Let's say you want to make a completely noiseless rule and not just noiseless like there's no sound but no vibrations no light or wifi or radio signals nothing so to get rid of sound you suck out all of the air from the room with no air molecules there's no way for sound to travel but sound and vibrations can come through the ground too soo you havr isolate the room from the outside world may be suspending it just above the ground and to keep out light radiowaves or cell phone interference you lie in the room with metal which makes it impossible for electromagnetic radiation to get in so now you have a perfect noiseless environment right nope even if you could make a perfect vaccum empty space is not really empty heisenberg's uncertainity principle allows us for things like photons and particle to spontaneously appear and disappear and even though quantum fluctations don't last very long they're as random as it gets here are noise and if you had super sensitive equipment you detect them this quantum noise is a fundamental part of reality itself so you might think it's impossible to get rid of but there is a way sort of imagine a flash light that instead of emitting light shoots out a kind of negative light that distorys photons in its path it sounds crazy but there actually in such a device how's it work well the uncertainity principle always involves at least two quanties so for example you can know a particles postion with great certainly as long as you have a lot of uncertainty about it's momentum by using squeezed light you can decrease the probablity of finding quantum noise at high frequencies by increasing the probablity of finding it at low frequencies so you can't really eliminate quantum noise altogather but you can shift it form one frequency range to another which depending on what you want to do might be enough to let you finally enjoy a little true peace and quiet
