The flu virus has a lot of sex influenza is microscopic little package almost it looks kind of like a ball the virus has two major surface proteins that sticks out like spikes they look in the sense like like lollipops and these are sort of the business end of the virus one protein called hemagglutinn it allows the virus to get in the cell it wants to infect and the other protein called neuraminidase has the opposite
- effect it allows that virus to escape as newlife made viruses there are different sub type of influenza and they are named by the two surface protein hemagglutinin and neuraminidase we tent'to shorten that to just H and in each of those proteins has its own varying it one two three four and so on so you can have an H1N1 flu virus or at age two and two so influenza is not one virus but really a whole group of viruses and they come in wide variety of flavors there are the thousands and thousands of different influenza strains but what make it particularly crazy is that influenza virus has a lot of sex if two different viruses infact one cell at the same time you can create a new mixed and matched virus and then it computate and recombined with other flu so the possibilites are virtually endless
